Chapter 14

Objectivity: This demands that the journalist sticks to only the observable facts. Which means this keeps them from finding the actual truth of the story.

Thoroughness: This is tracking down the most reliable sources to get the most accurate information.
• Find the best documentary evidence

Accuracy: VITAL ASPECT!!! If the piece of journalism is not accurate than it is nothing, meaningless.

Fairness: All bases are covered! Make sure to represent both sides of the argument. It cannot be one side, meaning it can’t be your side!

Transparency: To gain and maintain public trust.

I think all of these are very important but most important I would have to say is accuracy. Because if the information in the newspaper is not accurate than people are reading for the wrong reasons!
