Feature Story

First of all what I have read from chapter 6 so far is saying that a feature is usually between 200 and 500 words. It is when a story is unusual rather than important. It is something that will more than likely not be on the front page of the newspaper, why? because it is not that important, it may just make someone reading better, because it isn't about all the things going wrong in the world.

Feature story's use summary lede's which don't tend to pack in all the information right then in there...you don't have to write the 5 w's and the h right then. Instead of packing all that information in, you only just give a slight preview of what it is to come in the story....make the reader want to go on. The object of the writer it to get the reader just far enough in that they want to read the whole feature.

This is different because they are telling a little bit of the story and trying to get the reader more interested and to read on. This is different from what we have practiced before because our goal was to answer the 5 w's and the h in the other lede's we have done before.

I think this is going to be one of the best one's we do...it is a little more open.
